Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it refuels you after a long night’s sleep. Some of my favorites include high protein choices such as scrambled egg whites with salsa or a banana filled with peanut or almond butter. This time of year, Clementines are a favorite mid-morning snack when I need a taste of refreshment. When it’s cold, a cooked acorn squash with cinnamon is very filling and healthy, too! — Julie Green

Every morning for the past 10 years, I have eaten a bowl of high-fiber raisin bran with skim milk for breakfast. I also add some granola or crunchy cereal to the top to make it a little more fun. All the fiber in raisin bran keeps me full until lunchtime and the skim milk makes my bones strong. Peri Stolic and Calci M. Bone are definitely pleased with this meal! — Caitlin Heitz

In the morning I am always in a hurry so I love protein shakes. In the blender, I put a scoop of protein shake, a tablespoon of fiber, a little bit of black cherry concentrate, about a cup of low-fat raspberry kefir, 1/4 cup of aloe vera juice, and 3 ice cubes. Blend until smooth. I love this breakfast option because it tastes good, gives me energy, and is quick! — Susan Papesh

I have a few breakfast favorites that I tend to rotate throughout the week. One option is a protein-packed breakfast sandwich made with a whole wheat english muffin, turkey sausage, egg whites and cheese. I usually eat high-fiber oatmeal before a morning workout and if I am trying to load up on fruits and veggies early, I will make a green smoothie. My favorite smoothie ingredients include strawberries, bananas, peaches, and spinach. — Maria White

One of my favorite “fun” breakfasts (especially when the kids were young) is called Peek-a-Boo Eggs. Heat a skillet with a little bit of olive oil, then add two slices of whole grain bread, with a circle cut out of the middle. Brown each side, then crack one egg into the center of the bread. Let the egg cook as desired, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. — Dr. Michelle Lombardo

The McNamara’s are huge breakfast fans as we find this to be a great way to start the day feeling connected with good   yummy chow! We rotate healthy breakfast foods like whole grain waffles with maple syrup, low-fat yogurt with cereal, turkey sausage and whole-wheat toast, eggs/egg whites with low-fat cheese, grilled veggies and whole-wheat toast, whole wheat French toast, and oatmeal with all natural peanut butter and honey. Also, every morning we have one of the following fruits: watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries or bananas. — Karen McNamara
